Jets Logo, NFL Labour and Alomar HoF Talk

Friday Roundtable in effect. Guest host Jeff Marek fills in on Bob's last day off, we learn that Damien Cox is hounded by twitter trolls, and Friedman and Grange say douchebag in a solid Bobcat-less roundtable.

Winnipeg Jets History & Logo Talk

What's everyone think of the new Jets logos? Seems like most of the roundtable thinks its alright, and I would tend to agree. Its a perfectly fine logo. Its nothing too flashy, and thats a good thing. I don't care too much for the overt militarism, but it doesn't bother me in the least. The main logo isn't too inspiring to me, but for some reason I absolutely LOVE the tertiary wordmark. It has such a cool understated, vintage feel.

Considering Moose and Polar-Bears were being tossed around as legit options, I am thrilled with how this turned out. A nice old school sweater design could really make this uniform/brand really impressive.

And no matter what, its just great to have the Jets Back.

A very good roundtable with alot of insightful and informed discussion about Twitter and the impact of social media on sports journalism.

Official, Official First Post

Welcome internet travelers to my slapdash attempt at blogging whilst I haplessly flail about through post post-secondary education un-employment. I have always enjoyed writing. I have wasted an embarrassing amount of my youth posting in chat rooms and on message boards while listening to radio & podcasts so I figured I may as well put all that pointless experience to use towards an only somewhat arguably less pointless endeavor. I enjoy writing, I think I do it good (see what I did there?), and I love sports, so this is my first (and probably last) attempt at combining those two passions to make some (if I were to be so pretentious to label spouting off on my typewriter across the interwebs) "sports journalism".

As a person who loves sports, but is often more interested in the stories off the field of play and behind the scenes, Prime Times Sports is a radio program that is, more often than not, talking about exactly the kind of stuff I want to hear. Bob's sports interests and curiosities within the sports landscape are always interesting and the array of guests are (for the most part) very enlightening.

As such, I have decided to start this blog to (mainly attempt to stroke my ego by getting hits but also to) follow along with the show, and hopefully provide some reference and further insight to other listeners about stories they hear on the program.

I will attempt to update the blog daily with some commentary, links and other such and such and so as, but obviously I may fall behind, or be unable to fully listen to the show. I know people will be dying in anticipation for the updates to the blog, so I will make a genuinely half-assed attempt to keep up to date.

Anyway, here are some perfunctory links to get us started.
